Kidnappers of Dr. Abu and His Younger Brother Arrested in Auchi
Two suspected kidnappers involved in the abduction of Dr. Abu and his younger brother (also a medical doctor) have been arrested.
According to reports, the suspects brought their sick child to Auchi General Hospital, Edo State, late in the night of Friday, 7th February 2026, seeking medical treatment.
In what many have described as divine intervention, the very hospital they visited is where Dr. Abu, their former victim, works. Dr. Abu was kidnapped alongside his younger brother some weeks ago. While Dr. Abu was later released after a ₦45 million ransom, his younger brother was tragically killed by the abductors.
Upon sighting the suspects, Dr. Abu immediately recognized them and promptly alerted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Auchi Division, and other hospital authorities.
The police acted swiftly and arrested the two suspects without delay. They have since been taken into custody for further investigation and interrogation.
Authorities believe the arrested suspects may not be the only individuals involved in the crime, and further arrests may follow as investigations continue.
